Hoisin Asian Meatballs

Hoisin Asian Meatballs

This recipe was part of the OTGF’s Urban Farm-a-licious Event, a collaboration between On the Ground Floor and Tested, Tried and True.

This recipe comes from my most favorite food blog in the whole wide world, Damn Delicious. Due to not getting a last minute ingredient we had to find a quick replacement for the Urban Farm-a-licious event. Malika went looking on my personal Pinterest page and found this recipe. She was worried because it had never been tried before. I asked her what blog it was from and when she said it was a Damn Delicious recipe I knew we had nothing to worry about.

Hoisin Asian Meatballs

My wife loves eating my food, but her eyes go dull when I start talking about recipes, food blogs, or my food gadgets. The first time I made a recipe from Damn Delicious I set the plate in front of my wife, she took one bite and I swear the following came out of her mouth. “Damn! This is delicious!” I knew at that moment I was going to be a regular visitor to the Damn Delicious blog.

Asian Hoisin Meatballs

In addition to sharing original recipes, one of the things I’m going to focus on are “fixes” of recipes I find online (mostly on pinterest) after I’ve tested them out. I can say that I always make Chungah’s recipes as stated (except maybe adding more garlic. I ALWAYS add more garlic). So check her out and enjoy these Hoisin Asian Meatballs. They are juicy and tender beef meatballs that are taken to the next level with a sweet hoisin glaze that is flavorful and fun.

The Meatballs
  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a aluminum foil; set aside.

  4. Roll the mixture into 1 1/4-to-1 1/2-inch meatballs, forming about 18-20 meatballs.
  5. Place meatballs onto prepared baking sheet and bake for 12 minutes, or until all sides are browned and meatballs are cooked through.

  2. Serve meatballs immediately with hoisin sauce, garnished with green onion and sesame seeds.
Notes
  1. We served these with bamboo toothpicks and it was great as a small bite.
